The San Antonio Bar Association is excited to welcome Judge David Ezra to our monthly luncheon on February 28!

Judge Ezra graduated first in his class from St. Mary’s University Law School. He was a partner in the law firm of Anthony, Hoddick, Reinwald & O’Connor, concentrating his practice in the field of construction litigation.  In 1976, he formed his own law firm which was known for several years as Ezra, O’Connor, Moon & Tam.

Judge Ezra was appointed to the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii in 1988, becoming the youngest federal judge in Hawaii history, and was the longest serving active federal judge in Hawaii’s history.  Judge Ezra took Senior Judicial status in 2012.  He is currently serving by designation on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division.

Judge Ezra was elected by the judges of the Ninth Circuit to a three-year term as a member of the Judicial Conference of the United States, which governs the operations of the Federal Judiciary (2002-2005).  Judge Ezra is the first and only judge from Hawaii to be elected a member of the Judicial Conference of the United States. Judge Ezra currently serves as a member of the Judicial Conference Budget and Finance Advisory Council. In 2007, Judge Ezra was awarded the prestigious Rosewood Gavel Award for his contributions to the adjudication of justice.  Past recipients of this award include Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

Please note that the February luncheon will take place at The Copper Coin, located on the bank level of the Frost Bank building. The cost to attend is $25 for members of the San Antonio Bar Association and Plaza Club members, and $30 for nonmembers.
